Frances M. Olivier practices civil and criminal law in New Orleans and in Metairie, across the river parishes, and north of the lake. Ms. Olivier handles a variety of civil matters, including personal injury, employment matters, maritime claims, and probate and estate administration (successions in Louisiana law), as well as criminal defense.

Ms. Olivier is an experienced trial attorney and no stranger to the courtroom.

She began her career right out of law school as a prosecutor, spending three years as an Assistant District Attorney in New Orleans at Tulane and Broad. Impressed with her trial skills and calm confidence in front of a jury, GEICO Insurance Company hired her to be part of their team of in-house attorneys. Later, when a national casino operator needed a general counsel to handle their legal problems and open a brand new general counsel’s office, they chose Ms. Olivier as their first in-house counsel and as their first-ever female attorney nation-wide.

After seventeen years of work for public and private corporations, Ms. Olivier entered private practice. She has based her personal practice on the same principles she used as an Assistant D.A. and as a corporate lawyer: she builds relationships with her clients and fights for their rights personally. With Ms. Olivier, you won’t be handed off to speak with an assistant or a paralegal: you’ll talk with Ms. Olivier herself.

She has built an impeccable reputation based on honesty and fairness. She is a no-nonsense lawyer whose word is her bond. She takes her client’s cause as her own and works hard to make things happen. Ms. Olivier prides herself on personal service to solve her client’s legal problems. For criminal defense or civil litigation, call the Law Office of Frances M. Olivier.
